Elisabetta Cocciaretto enters as the 58% implied probability favorite against Sinja Kraus in the first round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia on Rome's clay courts, driven by her higher WTA ranking of No. 41 versus Kraus's No. 104 and strong 17-8 record this season. As an Italian playing at home, Cocciaretto benefits from crowd support and clay familiarity, where she has historically performed well despite a recent first-round loss to Alycia Parks in Madrid. Both advanced through qualifiers, with Kraus delivering a decisive 6-2, 6-2 upset over Dominika Salkova on May 4, signaling her momentum, though no prior head-to-head exists. No fresh injury concerns for either, setting up a competitive matchup on the slower surface.
