In the WTA 125 Trophée Clarins Paris round of 16 on clay, No. 125 Alina Charaeva faces No. 87 Tamara Korpatsch in their first head-to-head matchup, with similar Elo ratings near 1670 highlighting a competitive affair. Charaeva, 23, advanced via a dominant 6-4, 6-0 first-round win over Sara Bejlek on May 12, building on her 15-11 season record and recent clay momentum. Korpatsch, 31 and more experienced, notched a gritty three-set upset over higher-ranked Clara Burel (4-6, 7-6, 6-4) in the prior round after qualifying past Ksenia Efremova, boasting a strong 13-6 clay mark in 2026. Trader consensus reflects Charaeva's rising form against Korpatsch's ranking edge and resilience, with no reported injuries or withdrawals; outdoor conditions in Paris favor baseline grinders.
