Mirra Andreeva and Marta Kostyuk clash in the Mutua Madrid Open final after blistering clay-court runs in 2026, with the No. 8 seed Andreeva holding a 12-1 record on the surface—capped by her quarterfinal upset of Leylah Fernandez and semifinal win over Hailey Baptiste—while pursuing a third WTA 1000 title as the first teenager in three such finals since 2009. Kostyuk, seeded 26th and ranked No. 23, remains unbeaten at 11-0 on clay, fresh off her Rouen title and a gritty 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 semifinal victory over Anastasia Potapova in her first 1000 final; she leads their head-to-head 1-0 from January's Brisbane quarters on hard courts. No injuries reported, with Madrid's high-altitude clay favoring baseline grinders amid neutral weather conditions.
