Valve's April 29, 2026 update added the reworked Cache to Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes following the developer's acquisition of rights from creator FMPONE, marking a key step after years outside the rotation since 2019. However, the map remains absent from Premier and the professional Active Duty pool, with integration expected only after the IEM Cologne Major or during a subsequent season update. Community pressure, Valve's deliberate testing timeline, and potential roster adjustments—such as swapping out a staple like Mirage—shape sentiment around timing. Recent May patches have addressed initial issues, while the lack of official confirmation on pool entry keeps resolution tied to Valve's post-Major decisions.
