With only the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills and Travelers Championship remaining before the June 30 cutoff, the compressed schedule sharply limits opportunities on reachable par-5s. Albatrosses remain exceptionally rare on the PGA Tour, occurring sporadically amid roughly one-in-a-million odds per approach shot even in favorable conditions. Recent examples such as Max McGreevy’s 246-yard double eagle in March 2026 demonstrate they can materialize without warning, yet the firm, wind-exposed setups and thick rough typical of major venues like Shinnecock suppress scoring and long-iron accuracy. Trader consensus at 63% for “No” reflects this narrow window and the low baseline frequency across large fields.
