Yibing Wu and Titouan Droguet meet in the Madrid Open qualifying final on high-altitude clay, with Wu holding a slight edge at ATP No. 100 over Droguet's No. 113 in their first head-to-head clash. Both advanced convincingly in the first round yesterday—Wu rallying from 3-5 down in the second set to defeat wildcard Manas Dhamne 6-1, 7-5, while Droguet overcame an opening-set loss to Otto Virtanen 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. Wu enters with a strong 7-1 clay record in 2026, leveraging his powerful serve suited to Madrid's conditions, whereas the French Droguet boasts superior lifetime clay experience but mixed recent ATP results. No injuries reported; trader consensus reflects Wu's momentum and ranking advantage in this evenly matched qualifier decider.
