World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, the top seed and home favorite at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, faces Sebastian Ofner in the second round on the Foro Italico clay after Ofner's 6-3, 6-3 qualifying win over Alex Michelsen on Thursday. Sinner enters unbeaten since Doha with a strong 76-24 lifetime clay record, bolstered by recent Masters 1000 triumphs over Zverev and Alcaraz, while defending finalist points here ahead of Roland Garros. The pair meet for the first time, with Sinner's baseline power, serve, and crowd support heavily favored against No. 82 Ofner's aggressive style and momentum, though upsets remain possible on slippery clay amid variable Roman weather. A third-round clash with Jakub Mensik looms for the winner.
