Gauthier Onclin, the top seed and world No. 246 from Belgium, holds a clear ranking edge over No. 349 Mert Alkaya of Turkey in this Abidjan 2 Challenger quarterfinal on outdoor hard courts. Onclin advanced with a resilient three-set comeback against qualifier Massimo Giunta (6-7(6), 7-6(2), 6-0), extending his strong hard-court form after winning the prior Abidjan event final over Hamish Stewart. Alkaya, the No. 8 seed, powered through Paul Jubb 6-1, 6-4 in the round of 16, showing improved serve hold percentages. Their first head-to-head favors Onclin's experience in Challenger quarterfinals, though Alkaya's recent upset potential keeps it competitive; baseline endurance and conditions in Côte d'Ivoire's heat will be decisive factors.
