In the Mutua Madrid Open second round on clay, No. 19 seed Cameron Norrie (world No. 23) holds advantages in ranking, head-to-head (2-0 over Tomas Machac, last meeting May 2025), and clay form (3-2 in 2026, including Monte Carlo opener win over Miomir Kecmanovic and Barcelona quarterfinal run before qualifier upset). Machac (No. 41), fresh off a gritty three-set first-round win over Francisco Comesana, brings momentum from his Adelaide hard-court title but faces a stylistic test against Norrie's lefty baseline game at high-altitude Madrid, where big serves gain extra bite. No reported injuries; trader consensus reflects Norrie's experience in Masters 1000 clay events versus Machac's upset potential.
