In the Gwangju Challenger semifinal on outdoor hard courts, local favorite Soon-Woo Kwon (ATP No. 350) meets higher-ranked Yu-Hsiou Hsu (No. 218) in their first head-to-head matchup. Kwon rides strong tournament momentum with three straight wins, including a gritty comeback 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 quarterfinal victory over compatriot Hyeon Chung on April 24 after straight-set triumphs over Daniel Masur and Ilia Simakin. Hsu has also reached the semis undefeated in sets completed, beating Murphy Cassone (retirement), Mark Lajal, and Tristan Schoolkate. Home crowd support and Kwon's recent form boost trader sentiment under sunny, warm conditions with no weather disruptions or injury concerns noted.
