In the Bengaluru 2 Challenger round of 16 on hard courts, former top-25 player Ilya Ivashka (ATP 722) meets rising Japanese talent Kokoro Isomura (ATP 543) in their first head-to-head matchup. Ivashka advanced dominantly yesterday, crushing Kuan-Yi Lee 6-2, 6-0 behind 85% first-serve points and five breaks, signaling sharp form after a 7-6 start to 2026 (5-4 on hard). Isomura grinded out a 7-6(6), 6-3 win over wildcard Karan Singh, converting both break chances with six aces but facing a tougher test. Ivashka's height (193cm) and power give stylistic edges on pace-friendly Bengaluru hard, though Isomura's youth (23) and 11-12 hard record this year add upset potential amid no reported injuries or withdrawals.
