In the Madrid Open second round, sixth seed Lorenzo Musetti holds a slight edge on clay over Hubert Hurkacz, whose powerful serve gains extra bite at high altitude despite his weaker clay record. Their head-to-head stands at 2-2, with Musetti's lone clay win via Hurkacz's retirement while leading 6-4, 2-0. Hurkacz impressed in his R1 straight-sets rout of Jaime Faria without facing a break point, signaling recovery from prior knee surgery and a coaching split. Musetti, rebuilding post-adductor retirement at Australian Open and Miami withdrawal, reached Barcelona quarterfinals last week but admits he's not fully match-sharp. Expect a tight battle hinging on baseline rallies and injury resilience.
