In the ATP Challenger Cagliari final on clay, top seed Hubert Hurkacz (No. 63) faces Matteo Arnaldi (No. 103) in their first head-to-head matchup, with both advancing through grueling three-set semifinals yesterday. Hurkacz rallied past former top-10 Matteo Berrettini in the quarters before edging Roman Andres Burruchaga 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-3, leveraging his powerful serve despite clay not being his preferred surface. Home-crowd favorite Arnaldi, an alternate entry, outlasted third seed Nuno Borges 6-3, 6-7(2), 7-6(3) then crushed qualifier Gianluca Cadenasso 1-6, 6-1, 6-0, riding momentum on Italian soil. Hurkacz enters with a stronger YTD record (12-10) and United Cup triumphs over Fritz and Wawrinka, while Arnaldi seeks a breakthrough amid a 6-8 season; endurance and baseline rallies will decide this best-of-three encounter.
