In the Ostrava Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor clay, No. 228 Tom Gentzsch holds the edge with strong recent form, upsetting third seed Zsombor Piros 6-4, 6-7(7), 7-6(7) in the round of 16 after a straight-sets 6-3, 6-2 win over George Loffhagen. Qualifier Rudolf Molleker (No. 431) advanced steadily, defeating Daniel Siniakov 7-6(4), 6-0 and Henri Squire 6-4, 6-3, but trails in clay head-to-head after Gentzsch's 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-2 victory over him in last year's Braunschweig Challenger. The all-German matchup pits Gentzsch's rising momentum and higher ranking against Molleker's gritty qualifier run, with no reported injuries influencing trader consensus on this best-of-three-sets encounter.
