In the Abidjan 1 Challenger quarterfinal on clay, closely ranked Yanki Erel (#394, left-handed Turk) faced Hamish Stewart (#391, 6'4" British server) in their first H2H, with trader consensus slightly favoring Erel at around 60% implied probability pre-match due to his straight-sets upset of seventh seed Blaise Bicknell in the R16 and comeback win over Mukund Sasikumar in R32. Stewart earned his spot via a dominant 6-0 6-4 R16 rout of Samir Hamza Reguig after a gritty three-set R32 survival against Eliakim Coulibaly, highlighting his serving edge on outdoor clay. Both showed resilience in prior rounds, setting up a competitive matchup vulnerable to tiebreaks, momentum shifts, or fatigue, with no major injuries reported beforehand. Stewart ultimately prevailed 7-6(5) 7-6(7) amid Erel's mid-match medical timeout for a left thigh issue.
