In the second round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, clay-court grinder Sebastian Baez faces No. 11 seed Alexander Bublik, who holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their 2025 Miami hard-court clash. Baez advanced yesterday with a gritty 6-3, 7-6(10) win over Jenson Brooksby, showcasing his baseline tenacity on the slow Roman clay where he boasts a strong 83-53 ATP career record. Bublik enters fresh off a first-round bye, leveraging his career-high top-10 breakthrough and improved clay results from Madrid and Munich earlier this spring. No injury concerns for either, with typical mild May weather in Rome unlikely to disrupt play; Baez's surface affinity tempers Bublik's power and variety in this stylistic matchup.
