Noma Noha Akugue enters the Makarska Open clay-court encounter holding a clear ranking edge at world No. 162 against Miriam Bulgaru’s No. 236, supported by a stronger 2026 win-loss record of 24-9 compared with Bulgaru’s 1-8. Akugue reached the second round of Roland Garros qualifying before her loss, while Bulgaru has dropped multiple early matches on clay in recent ITF and WTA events. Both players compete on a surface that rewards consistent baseline play and movement, with no prior head-to-head meetings on record. The upcoming match represents a key opportunity for Akugue to build momentum in the European clay swing, while Bulgaru seeks to reverse her recent slide. Trader consensus reflected in current pricing aligns with these form and ranking differentials heading into the third-round clash.
