Ognjen Milic, the 18-year-old Serbian ranked near 360, faces Thomas Faurel, the slightly higher-ranked Frenchman at around 318, in a Royan Challenger first-round match on outdoor clay. Faurel brings recent clay-court momentum, including French Open qualifying wins and a main-draw appearance plus a Lyon Challenger victory, while benefiting from home-country support and familiarity with European red-clay conditions. Milic has shown solid form on hard courts in Indian Challengers earlier in May but enters with limited recent clay exposure and a loss in his prior outing. The surface favors baseline consistency and endurance, areas where Faurel’s experience may provide an edge in what appears to be their first meeting.
