Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects a 61.5% implied probability for "No" on X facing a ban in any European country by December 31, 2026, driven by the European Commission's preference for escalating Digital Services Act (DSA) enforcement through fines rather than outright prohibitions. The December 2025 €120 million penalty against X for transparency lapses in ad repositories, blue checkmarks, and researcher data access marked the first major DSA action, prompting X's February 2026 legal challenge at the EU's top court and partial compliance like its March blue check plan submission. Recent Brussels guidance cautioning member states against unilateral social media crackdowns, amid ongoing probes into features like Grok image generation, reinforces regulatory fines over national bans, with X remaining operational as Europe's top news app in key markets; court rulings and potential further fines loom as pivotal catalysts.
