Trader consensus prices Ajla Tomljanovic at 50% implied probability in this Internazionali BNL d'Italia qualifying first-round clash on Rome's clay courts, balancing her WTA No. 85 ranking and veteran experience against inconsistent 2026 form (8-9 record) following a January knee injury retirement in Adelaide. No head-to-head exists, but Tomljanovic's recent clay losses, including to Donna Vekic in Charleston and Sara Sorribes Tormo in La Bisbal d'Empordà last week, contrast with wildcard Marta Lombardini (No. 945)'s stronger recent clay play—reaching second round at ITF W35 Santa Margherita di Pula with a straight-sets win over Pastikova before falling to Senic. Lombardini's home-crowd boost at Foro Italico and fresher legs could tip scales, while any Tomljanovic fitness update or weather delays might shift odds further in the closely contested matchup.
