Elena-Gabriela Ruse, ranked No. 67 with a 13-10 YTD record, holds the edge as the No. 2 seed in Rome qualifying over No. 103 Sinja Kraus (20-12 YTD, No. 22 seed) on clay courts at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, where they meet in the final qualifying round with no prior head-to-head. Both advanced via straight-sets wins in Q1—Ruse over Oceane Dodin and Kraus showing resilience—amid Ruse's strong clay momentum from a Linz semifinal run (upsetting Jelena Ostapenko) and a Madrid R64 loss to Elena Rybakina, while Kraus boasts deeper recent clay results including an Oeiras 125 final and Madrid qualifying triumphs over Martina Trevisan and Anastasia Potapova. No injury concerns reported; Kraus's hot streak tempers Ruse's ranking advantage in this best-of-three matchup.
