Top-seeded Veronika Erjavec (No. 96), the defending Huzhou champion, faces fourth-seeded Xiyu Wang (No. 170) in the WTA 125 Huzhou Open clay-court semifinals, their first head-to-head meeting. Erjavec has cruised through the draw with straight-set victories over Meiling Wang (6-0, 6-3), Sofya Lansere (6-3, 6-3), and Wushuang Zheng (6-2, 6-4), dropping only 11 games en route. Wang, on a strong 13-1 YTD run including home-soil wins over Zhibek Kulambayeva (6-3, 6-4), Chengyiyi Yuan (6-4, 6-4), and a resilient three-set quarterfinal defeat of Polona Hercog (6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4), gains crowd support. No injuries reported; outdoor clay favors Erjavec's consistent baseline game amid Wang's lefty power.
