In the WTA 125 Huzhou Open final on clay, top seed Veronika Erjavec (WTA 96), the defending champion, meets No. 3 seed Katarzyna Kawa (WTA 163) in their first head-to-head matchup. Both advanced via straight-sets semifinal wins on May 2: Erjavec outlasted Xiyu Wang 6-4, 7-6(3) in a tight contest showcasing her baseline resilience, while older veteran Kawa cruised past Hanyu Guo 6-4, 6-1 on momentum from four tournament victories. Erjavec's higher ranking, recent WTA 125 titles including last year's Huzhou, and strong clay form contrast Kawa's upset run and experience, with no reported injuries; weather in Huzhou appears favorable for outdoor play. Trader consensus reflects Erjavec's edge tempered by Kawa's hot streak.
