Ayla Aksu enters this WTA 125 Figueira da Foz hard-court matchup as the stronger favorite based on 2026 results, posting a 21-11 record compared to Ana Sofia Sanchez’s 11-13 mark. Both players sit near the 273-278 ranking range, with Aksu showing consistent form in recent ITF and lower-tier events while Sanchez has struggled to convert opportunities at this level. The surface favors baseline consistency and movement, areas where Aksu’s recent hard-court wins provide an edge. Sanchez’s experience and left-handed game could create upset potential in longer rallies, though her lower win rate this season limits momentum. No major injuries or late withdrawals have been reported, keeping the focus on current form and head-to-head dynamics in what projects as a competitive early-round encounter.
