Valve's April 28 update added the long-awaited Cache remake—purchased from creator FMPONE in May 2025—to CS2's Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes, ending its seven-year absence from active rotation and sparking widespread community hype after extensive Source 2 redesigns. This move aligns with Valve's pattern of workshop integrations ahead of full Active Duty map pool changes, but Cache remains absent from Premier matchmaking and professional circuits, including Majors, with experts like Aurora's Maj3r predicting entry post-IEM Cologne Major 2026. Traders eye seasonal rotations, pro team feedback during testing, and potential replacements like Mirage or Inferno as key factors influencing official pro pool inclusion.
