Steve Kerr's expiring contract with the Golden State Warriors, which ended after the 2025-26 season, has fueled uncertainty driving the tight trader consensus, with Warriors implied at 52.5% to retain him amid ongoing negotiations targeting an early May resolution. Recent productive meetings between Kerr, owner Joe Lacob, and GM Mike Dunleavy underscore alignment challenges, including multiyear extension demands and roster questions around Steph Curry's future. Kerr's public loyalty—"I would never walk away from Steph"—bolsters the Warriors' edge, yet a clustered field around 46% for Lakers, Magic, Raptors, and others reflects skepticism over a quick deal, potential coaching carousel interest from rebuilding teams, or even Team USA/college pivots by year-end, keeping the race competitive.
