Primary elections in South Carolina are scheduled to be held on June 9, 2026, with a runoff election scheduled to be held on June 23, 2026. This market will resolve according to the winner of the most votes in the first round of the Republican Primary for Governor of South Carolina. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If the results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to “Other.” The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the State of South Carolina, such as official statewide results published by the South Carolina Election Commission (https://scvotes.gov/); however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette in late May has consolidated Republican primary support behind the incumbent, positioning her as the clear frontrunner to finish first in today’s June 9 first-round vote. South Carolina’s crowded field, including Attorney General Alan Wilson, U.S. Representatives Ralph Norman and Nancy Mace, and businessman Rom Reddy, remains fragmented with substantial undecided voters, making Evette’s institutional role and business background key advantages in securing plurality support. Recent campaign events and final polling show her maintaining a lead, though the 50 percent threshold for outright nomination increases runoff likelihood among the remaining contenders. Trader consensus reflects these dynamics, with Evette’s probability far exceeding others amid the open-seat contest following Governor McMaster’s term limit.
