With four matchweeks left in the 2025/26 Premier League season, trader consensus hinges on the tight race for sixth place, which guarantees a UEFA Europa League group stage spot alongside the FA Cup winners. Brighton lead on 50 points after 34 games, but Bournemouth trail by one point, while Chelsea, Brentford, and Fulham sit two back at 48—nine teams separated by just eight points from sixth to 14th. Recent results shifted dynamics: Liverpool overtook Aston Villa for fifth on goal difference via a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, as Villa fell 0-1 to Fulham; Manchester United bolstered their top-five lock with a 2-1 victory over Brentford. Pivotal remaining fixtures include Liverpool at Manchester United and hosting Chelsea, plus Aston Villa's clashes with Tottenham and Liverpool. The FA Cup semi-finals pit Manchester City against Leeds and Chelsea versus Southampton, with the May 16 final potentially elevating a mid-table side like Chelsea directly to Europa League regardless of league position.
