In the Wuxi Challenger first round on outdoor hard courts, No. 194 seed Bernard Tomic holds a significant edge over qualifier Alafia Ayeni (No. 486) due to superior ranking, experience, and career hard-court record (325-200), fueling trader consensus toward the Australian despite his 7-8 YTD mark and recent first-round loss to Marat Sharipov in Jiujiang on April 29. Ayeni counters with hot form (16-7 overall, 13-5 hard), including qualifier triumphs over Jake Delaney (7-6(5), 6-2) and Philip Sekulic (2-6, 6-1, 6-1) in the past 48 hours, showcasing aggressive serving (12 aces vs. Sekulic) and break efficiency. No head-to-head exists; key factors include Tomic's height advantage (6'5" vs. 6'3") and Ayeni's upset potential in best-of-three sets absent injury concerns.
