Mitchell Krueger, ranked No. 278 with a career-high of 135, holds the edge over No. 413 Braden Shick in their first head-to-head clash in the Savannah Challenger round of 16 on green clay. Krueger advanced with a gritty three-set win over wild card Michael Antonius (6-7(3), 7-6(4), 6-4) on April 21, showcasing resilience in a baseline battle, while 22-year-old qualifier Shick, entering as a lucky loser, dispatched Tyler Zink 6-3, 7-5 in straights after upsetting Strong Kirchheimer in qualifying. No injuries reported; Krueger's experience on clay and steadier recent Challenger form drive trader consensus toward him as favorite, though Shick's momentum and youth introduce upset potential amid variable outdoor conditions.
