No. 7 seed Alexander Shevchenko (ATP 82) holds a significant edge over French qualifier Dan Added (ATP 216) in their first-round clash on outdoor clay at the Aix-en-Provence Challenger, reflecting trader consensus on Shevchenko's superior ranking and recent main-draw experience. Shevchenko advanced through Monte Carlo qualifying with straight-set wins over Andrea Pellegrino and another before a first-round loss to Marin Cilic last week, showing baseline consistency despite a career 41% clay win rate at ATP level. Added, a doubles specialist (career-high No. 77), earned his spot via qualifying but enters off singles losses in Rome Challenger to Arthur Fery and Cherbourg to Murphy Cassone, buoyed only by home-crowd support. Upset potential exists in Challenger volatility, with no head-to-head history.
