In the Gwangju Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts, top seed Soon-Woo Kwon (ATP 335) meets compatriot Hyeon Chung (ATP 644) in their first head-to-head clash. Kwon, riding strong recent form with an 11-2 record this year including a 7-6(?), 6-3 upset over Ilia Simakin in the last round, holds ranking and momentum advantages. Chung, a former world No. 19 mounting a comeback from long-term injuries, advanced via straight sets over No. 179 Clement Chidekh, marking his second consecutive Gwangju quarters amid improved fitness. Home crowd support and stylistic familiarity on hard could fuel an upset, with no major injury concerns reported ahead of the April 24 matchup.
