Jesper de Jong enters the Cagliari Challenger round of 16 on clay with momentum from a gritty 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-1 comeback win over home favorite Stefano Travaglia in the first round, showcasing resilience in three sets. Adrian Mannarino, the higher-ranked No. 46 veteran left-hander, advanced past his opener but arrives amid a dismal 2026 form of 7-14 overall, including a straight-sets loss to Ignacio Buse in Madrid last week. Their sole head-to-head favors Mannarino 6-4, 6-4 from Beijing qualifiers last September on hard courts, yet De Jong's No. 109 ranking and clay affinity contrast Mannarino's recent struggles and age-related fatigue risks, with no injury concerns reported for either ahead of this outdoor clash.
