In the second round of the Shymkent 2 Challenger on clay courts, No. 285 Andrej Nedic faces No. 411 Mathys Erhard in their first head-to-head matchup. Nedic, the 21-year-old Bosnian, advanced yesterday with a dominant 6-0, 2-0 retirement win over Svyatoslav Gulin, extending his strong recent form on the surface. Erhard, 24 from France, snapped a four-match losing streak via straight-sets 6-3, 6-4 victory against Tomasz Berkieta, showing improved consistency. Both right-handers contend with uneven court bounces in Shymkent that challenge heavy forehands, while Nedic's higher ranking and youth tilt trader sentiment toward him amid Challenger volatility where upsets loom large.
