World No. 5 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime faces No. 44 Mariano Navone in the second round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia on outdoor red clay at Rome's Foro Italico, where Navone holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their 2025 Munich clay clash (2-6, 6-4, 7-6). Auger-Aliassime enters with momentum from a UTS Nîmes clay title over Casper Ruud in early April and an encouraging Monte Carlo run, building clay confidence despite preferring hard courts. Navone, a baseline grinder thriving on the surface, recently captured his maiden ATP 250 trophy in Bucharest last month. No recent injuries reported for either; stylistic matchup favors Navone's topspin-heavy game against FAA's big serve amid typical Roman clay grind.
