Trader consensus splits nearly evenly on nine versus ten-plus first-round trades in the 2026 NFL Draft, reflecting historical volatility where recent drafts averaged around ten picks swapped on Day 1 amid varying team aggression. Pre-draft player deals already shuffled seven first-round picks—including Dexter Lawrence to the Giants at No. 10 and Trent McDuffie to the Rams at No. 29—setting a fluid board, while final mocks from NFL.com and ESPN forecast three to six on-draft moves, often involving Chiefs, Jets, and Cowboys trading up for elite edge rushers like Keldric Faulk or linebackers such as Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles. Absent last-minute injury reports or QB runs beyond Fernando Mendoza, the wisdom of crowds hinges on mid-round swap volume versus blockbuster ups pushing past nine.
